FC Barcelona -Luis Suarez
Luis Suarez of FC-Barcelona made a hat-trick and Lionel Messi produced a master class as Barcelona strolled to a 6-2 victory over Real Betis at the Camp Nou. The former hit man of Liverpool is bidding to retain the Pichichi award and clinically put away three as the hosts ran commotion in their La Liga opener.
Messi also struck a brace and put another one on a plate for Suarez to the pleasure of Luis Enrique on the touchline.
It was former Sunderland boss Gus Poyet’s first game in control for Betis and it was not pretty eyeing for the Uruguayan boss.
Ruben Castro added some respectability for the Andalusians with a free-kick which have to be saved by Man City-bound Claudio Bravo and a sweetly struck second from inside the box.
Revival of Arda Turan
Last year was very not so good to say the least for Arda Turan.
After joining Barcelona for €34million and then he have to watch from the stands until January, Turan barely made an impact as Luis Enrique’s side rolled to a La Liga title.
The Nou Camp club prepared him available for transfer but couldn’t find a buyer willing to pay the demanding price and phenomenal expenses.
A terrible Euro 2016 with Turkey, culminating in him being booed by his own fans, was the real nadir, and after that Denis Suarez arrived in Barcelona, followed by Andre Gomes, ensuring the writing on the wall was pretty highlighted at club level.
Yet somehow he has turned it around. Some good performances in pre-season earned him a starting place for this, Barca’s league opener.
And he was in the right place at the right time to tuck home Jordi Alba’s cross and start the scoring. Real Betis bought two forwards this summer as they attempt to breed themselves off a reliance on Ruben Castro’s goals.
Tony Sanabria, the talented young Paraguayan forward, arrived at high wages while Roman Zozulya, the Ukraine international, has since joined him.
But when it came down to it. the old-timer Castro proved himself that he still has the magic.
The 35-year-old striker curled home a wonderful free kick to stun the Nou Camp into silence, equaling the scores at 1-1.
And while his side couldn’t hold on for a point, he proved that he isn’t going to be replaced any time soon.
Castro took another late on to add some respectability to Betis with a sweetly struck drive into the corner.
Meanwhile barcelona is going strong according to their recent performance .
